Research article published from the ERA Chair and collaborators in Microbiology Spectrum

Research article from the ERA Chair and collaborators from The University of Queensland and LanzaTech published in Microbiology Spectrum discovered that RNA sequencing sample preparation kits strongly affect transcriptome profiles of the gas-fermenting acetogen Clostridium autoethanogenum. The work is important since evaluating the performance of different commercial products requires significant financial and time investments infeasible for most researchers, so users are often guided in their choice of kits by published data involving similar input samples. Our results highlight the importance of finding appropriate organism-specific workflows and library preparation products for RNA-seq studies.
