Research article from the ERA Chair and collaborators from LanzaTech published in Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology reports the effects of deletion of two genes linked to the C1-fixing gene cluster in the gas-fermenting acetogen Clostridium autoethanogenum. The work advances our understanding of carbon fixation in acetogens and offers metabolic engineering targets for future studies. The paper is also the first genetic engineering work by the GasFermTEC ERA Chair team!
